Nancy and Shane (one of my favorite intimate weddings that I am finally sharing on my blog just a year later…)
Their wedding was just about the sweetest day ever. To start out, I was there to photograph the best rainy rehearsal dinner, which was more of just a great picnic celebrating all their close family and friends coming to town. It rained off and on, but then a stunning rainbow appeared over the lake which just confirmed that it was going to be a special weekend at this gorgeous family estate in Cashiers.
On to their actual wedding day, it was absolutely perfect. Some might say that the haunting rain that lingered throughout the morning made the day a little less enjoyable but it just made the day even more unique. And when the rain broke and Nancy and Shane said lets just do this, this is the time and it was the perfect gap in time which they had their ceremony in the garden. It was beautiful. The land was the perfect representation of the Sapphire/Cashiers area, which I love so dearly.
After the ceremony, everyone rushed inside due to the rain and it was just a room of smiles and hugs and complete happiness. While photographing in a dark room doesn’t always get the best colors/light but those are some of my favorite images. The simple black and white that just show the emotion with no distractions.
The day went on and we took family photos by the lake and then went on the explore the waterfall so Nancy and Shane could have a moment of alone time. It was stunning. Just like everything about this day. They joined back up with their family for dinner, dancing and fun. And they ended the night with celebratory sparklers and rode off in a golf cart to end the night. And oh what a special day that was.
Happy Anniversary Nancy and Shane
